In 1939 Sage Boyd was born in the Bronx in New York City. In the early ’50s her parents and 4 siblings moved to the Ridgewood, New Jersey, where she finished school and graduated from Ridgewood High in 1957.
Sage’s desire from early childhood was to be an artist. She loved to draw and paint. During high school, she applied and was accepted to Pratt Art Institute in New York City. Sadly, her parents couldn’t afford the tuition, so Sage wound up in nursing school with a full scholarship.
After being trained as a nurse for three years at St. Joseph’s Hospital School of nursing, in Paterson, New Jersey, she graduated with honor in 1960. Within a few months she married a Marine Corps helicopter pilot. She and her husband quickly had a family of four children within five years.
Fast forward to the present: Sage, now a widow, is the proud mother of four adults, each with a successful career. They have given her five grandchildren, and in April 2017 she will be a great-grandmother!
During all of her adult years, Sage has pursued her art and has achieved some modicum of success. Her work has been exhibited in galleries across the United States, including San Diego California, Albuquerque New Mexico, and Tucson,Arizona. She has won art show ribbons, and has taught art over her entire career.
Sage has seen the huge impact the internet has had on the business of getting known and selling art. Wasting no time, she”s hopped onto the technology bandwagon, and is now on the “net”.
Enjoy browsing through her website. Sage considers herself a “spiritual painter” because her art expression is, she hopes, inspiring to all viewers to further embrace their own spirituality.
